EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
Deep Sea Fisheries manages fishing vessels which fish and process
crab, Pacific cod, black cod, and other ground fish species in the
Bering Sea off Alaska's west coast. Deep Sea also manages a
salmon processing plant on Bristol Bay, Alaska at Big Creek, near
Egegik. As part of the management responsibilities, Deep Sea
handles the employment process for the companies it manages.
EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION FOR OUR SALMON PROCESSING PLANT:
The work is at Northland Fisheries, LLC's Big Creek
Facility, near Egegik, Alaska. The salmon processing
starts in mid-to late June and lasts for 2 to 6 weeks,
depending upon the abundance of the sockeye, coho, chum
or chinook salmon runs through Bristol Bay to their
spawning grounds.
Bunkhouse accommodations are provided, along with meals
and snacks.
Rain gear is also supplied.
Transportation to and from the plant is provided by the
company, at no cost to you, if you complete your
contract. Workers must be able and willing to work
up to 16 hour days, 7 days a week. The
starting rate of pay is Alaska minimum wage, with
overtime pay after 8 hours each day. Employees may
be required to stand for extended periods of time
and lift up to 20 pounds at a time. If you enjoy
physical labor, hard work, and have a positive attitude
this is the job for you!
Applications are taken starting in late April and hiring
is done in late May or early June. Positions
include: forklift drivers, maintenance crew, beach crew,
mechanical engineers, truck drivers, processors, cooks
and housekeeping crew.
Our Big Creek Facility is located on the shores of
Bristol Bay, Alaska.
The area is remote, the only transportation is by
boat or small plane. There are NO off-site businesses,
including restaurants, libraries, or any recreational
