Each summer, as the various salmon species travel through Bristol Bay, Alaska to their spawning grounds, independent fishermen catch the fish using either set-net or drift-net fishing gear.  Our subsidiary, Northland Fisheries, LLC, purchases the fish directly from these individual fishermen and processes the salmon at our salmon processing plant which is located in Big Creek, near Egegik, Alaska, on the shores of Bristol Bay.  We purchase only the highest quality fish that have been properly handled and kept well iced.  Our salmon is handled with care from the time it is caught until it ships, resulting in a premium salmon product.  The salmon is purchased directly from the fishermen via buying stations along the beach. Using transport tenders, we also purchase fish straight from drift-net fisherman, who continue fishing rather than coming in to the beach. Either way, the salmon are immediately placed into iced totes and transported to the plant for processing.

Our Big Creek processing plant runs 24 hours per day assuring the fresh fish are headed and gutted, then frozen within hours of being caught.  Our employees have extensive training in the proper handling of the fish, enabling us to provide the best product available for our customers.
